This reminds me of white women who announce their (pretentious) ignorance as to "why they ran" or "why they kept resisting," who announce (proudly) that a little respect goes a long way, and has saved them from citations more than once.

As always, there are those who shrug, and there are those who suffer irreparable damage at the hands of those who shrug.
